2015 - 'State Line' Multi-Family Residence Project (Hammond, IN) - Exterior Design Rendering #1
Nothing about this 18,000 square foot three-unit residential project is meant to be standard. The east end of the triangular site overlooks the expansive waters of Lake Michigan while the north end of the site sits literally on the dividing line between the States of Indiana and Illinois.
The building embraces its odd site, taking the triangular form in plan of the site itself. The exterior storefront, metal panel, stone, and green wall finishes continually flow and intertwine into one another, rendering no façade nearly the same as the other.
The covered parking, elevator capability, large exterior glass facades, exterior patios with lakefront views, and open green roof all help to provide a sustainable, comfortable oasis nestled within the greater urban Chicago metropolitan area.
